My school internet using this site (speedtest.net is blocked). Download is 986 and upload is 129.

Ands just retested it and it was 1392 download and 461 upload.

2199 dl and 256 upload speed

so just divide it with 8 and youll get the correct dl/up kb/s

Well I do think your ISP is probably crap but it sounds like you are on a 512kb package which is fine for browsing but when you start getting things like BBCi Player involved then it might cause problems.

If you can't get Virgin Media then when you get a chance, go for a provider like o2 Smile

Yes... I've been totally lazy about getting updated but I'll have to look into it.

kb/s i think it's kilobytes per second.. counterpart in athletics is meters per second lol..

the higher the kb/s, the faster your computer can process information, etc..

Higher the kb/s, the faster the data can be sent to your computer. Internal hardware like the CPU is to do with how fast your computer can process the information.
