I was on the next table to the runners up of the New Zealand version when I was in Auckland last week yes

I never watch this show, but did watch the first in the series, up to the part where Hingis was dancing.  She looked terrible and I did wonder what would happen, so am not surprised to learn that she was dismissed.  Bet her partner was not happy - think someone mentioned that he had won at one time?
