For a year. My mum and I will be fine, and my dad and I get on, he just forgets I've been living away from home for 5 years and can look after myself.
Aww.... that's so nice. As much as it might be a bit annoying, you should embrace it.

Yeah I am actually. 5 years of uni study, another 3 before I get my doctorate, kind of looking forward to a slightly easier year. Also means my mum and I get more girly time...or in our case, evenings spent watching old musicals!

So the Masters is one year and it takes a further 3 to get a doctorate? I could have my doctorate in 4 years, then.

You could indeed
Actually the doctorate might take slightly longer, the average time it takes for most people is between 3-4years, generally your funding body say 5 at most, but very few people take that long.
It means that presuming I get it done in 3-3 1/2 years I'll just be turning 27 when it get mine!!

I think it may be 3 minimum, but that the time isn't limited for a PhD? Not sure, though.

I'm not really bad.... I just talk a good game.
I can't be arsed with postcards.
Somehow or other I thought there was going to be this flashing electronic postcard with a pic of you in a bikini spending money like it's going out of fashion ....

I would rather poke my own eyes out with a big stick than post any kind of bikini pic on MW! Mark would surely scream and run for cover at the sight of my size 13 aged curves.

I firmly believe that unless you're an airbrushed model then no women wants to see a photo of herself in a bikini...but maybe that's just me.
In the cruise video from Egypt there's a bit where the guy is pretty much filming down my top! Did I notice? Nope was reading...came downstairs for dinner to be confronted by my cleavage and thighs!

Hey, anyone want to wake up the moderator?!!! After 3 pages of this pubicent yadda yadda, from supposedly "highly educated" folks, this is about to induce projectile vomiting in me!! (That would really screw up my keyboard!!!) Thought this was an Andy Murray tennis blog? I'd have to guess from the above praddle that either his tennis isn't that interesting or that this blog is merely a social page for Murray suck ups. I know that after your usual Saturday night drunken debauchery you all aren't yet awake, but when you finally recover enough to read, the Open starts tomorrow......got any news on that?

unfortunately for me I'm moving back in with the parentals so there will be no spece to just 'be' for me for a while
You'll be fine, Hazel, but it will take a bit of adjustment for them too - they've been used to having the place to themselves. Even oldies like their freedom and space to be just a couple again once the young ones have left. We would find plenty of adjusting to do if our youngest daughter moved back in after three years of fending for herself and it may come to that if she is made redundant because she just couldn't afford her part of the rent etc etc for the accomm she has. Good luck with that anyway and with your doctorate.

That's exactly it! And, let's face it, we go away to chill and get away from everyday stuff. Space just to 'be' is always very therapeutic.
Glad you enjoyed your hols Elly and it's good to have you back!

Nothing fresh and sorry about the chit chat - the last few pages will no doubt be moved at some point - this is a pretty friendly site, Buhweet, and you're very welcome! We'll try to do better, 'spect all those who have news are still sleeping!!
