Singapore's newest hotel complex is still being completed although the official opening day of the $8billion behemoth on Marina Bay was February 2011. Developed by the Las Vegas Sands group it is an integrated complex with a 2,561-room hotel, a shopping complex with gondolas on water, a casino, an Art and Sciences museum, two theatres and seven celebrity chef-run restaurants with an infinity pool on the roof.

The hotel has sloping towers connected at the 23rd floor. During the height of its construction they were breaking records, completing a new floor every four days.

Thousands Flee Rome Amid Earthquake Prophecy

Rome, the Eternal City, will be razed to the ground today as a devastating earthquake reduces its centuries-old buildings to a pile of rubble.

That, at least, is according to Internet rumors that are causing panic among some local residents.

The forecast was allegedly made by Raffaele Bendandi, a self-taught seismologist and astronomer who died in 1979 and is credited with correctly predicting several major earthquakes./r]

What an extraordinary freak accident!  Poor man'll probably never live it down.

And I notice that Fox News (not his best buddy) is claiming that he was drunk at the time. Rolling Eyes  Sounds more like a case of jet-lag to me.
