What did you end up doing, besides the cinema?
Shopping, then I went to the grocery store alone. Thankfully, there's a movie theater in the mall, so I didn't have to drive all over the place.

Love that you ditched your mum to get the groceries.

There are some things that I absolutely must do alone. That is one of them. Showering is another.

There are some things that I also must do alone. Pretty much everything, actually.

Ouch, salt in the wound. It was better than spending 4 hours shopping where I would be forced to actually have a conversation.
Jeez... I'm glad you're not mine. Would hate to think my kids felt that way about me.

I know a guy who hasn't spoken to his mum in years, sometimes the personality clash is just too much.

Precisely. It needn't be the fault of either person.

I guess. Just seems alien to me.
Must be such a shame for families who don't get on. 'Over sensitive Elly strikes again'....

Not thinking for one minute it's anyone's fault. But, I think most folk would make an effort for their kids.

That's not what you said, though. You said, "Glad you're not mine". That's you placing the blame, and for no real reason.

Let's just drop the subject, okay? I'm not here to spill my life story and give explanation as to why my mother and I have never gotten along. My fault for even bringing it up.

James will get it out of you, over time.

Why do you feel the need to pick holes in what I say? - especially in a post that wasn't even directed at you.
