I just started watching Louie, it's great. I like the stand-up segments as well, I don't normally like stand-up comedy. Shhh

Such a good show, especially for some relaxing viewing in the evening.

I also don't like stand-up comedy, I mean I seriously don't like it. I found it just about tolerable in Louie as it was kept to a minimum.

I've now completed House of Cards.

The quality of this show is brilliant. I love the script and I love Spacey Smile

I watched it basically all in one go and ended up despising everyone on it by the end.

Nothing redeemable about any of the characters.

You might be right about the characters but that didn't bother me at all. And although the lead is not a nice character, I still found myself rooting for him which I'm guessing is intended.

I don't root for him, so I guess they missed the mark with me.

The breaking down of the fourth wall does nothing for me, either. I think the show would be stronger if he didn't address the audience.

That's actually one of my favourite aspects of the show.

Perhaps one of those love it or you hate it things.

I watched two back to back 'Alien Mysteries' on the Discovery channel this morning while filing for my tax return, and they were both based on personal experiences. Great stuff. There's another show called Ancient Alien on the same channel - that's also another great show. I have a Science channel that I enjoy a great deal and the History channel has some amazing stuff going on like right now they are showing a documentary movie called The Bible. It captures the whole history of the Bible from a very objective point as the book is. Then the Biography channel has some shows like I Survived and I Survived Back and Beyond...all based on personal experiences. Brutal but also amazing stories. I like these shows/channels so much that it leaves me with no time for other TV shows that aren't real - like the dramas etc. But I found The Americans quite good. And there are some shows on HBO that are also quite good. I like Californication and also was a big fan the Dexter.
