What is all this iPhone bull****? Do what I do. Walk around with an 80's style mobile phone, as seen in Wall Street.

Not getting an iPhone don't worry, probably a Blackberry or HTC!

I'm not a fan of touch screens so the iPhone's out for me.
The iPhone touch screen is heat sensitive, but with others you actually have to press down, which I cannot do... The keypad does mean thar I am mighty fast at texting, even if apple predictive text is the most annoying thing ever...

Welcome to yesterday.
I'm not necessarily bothered if it's the latest fashion accessory, I just want something that's really functional, think the Blackberry is ideal for me.

I'm a keyboard fan. I have a Sidekick right now (it's a brick of a phone, let me tell you, no exaggerations), but its keyboard is heavenly.

Same, that's why I'm tempted to go with the Blackberry.
Might wait till the HTC Hero drops in price in the summer - that looks like a superb phone.

Why? It's like a brick, literally. I could throw it at someone and kill them.

Just ordered a Nexus One from Google for around £450
It's going to awesome to have when I go on holiday to Berlin next month... it will track my position using the built in GPS and give me live directions to whatever landmark I want to visit.

Good choice. I got the HTC Desire at the weekend as my contract with t-mobile was up. Basically the same phone as the N1, but free!

Watch the data roaming charges when using that...

I was very tempted by the Desire due to price, availaibility and I prefer the look of the phone but I really wanted the voice to text feature that is exclusive to N1.

I'm with 3 so assuming I don't pay by MB, I think it will be same cost as UK while I'm in Germany.

They are pretty similar phones on the surface but N1 seems a little better based on a few things.
It's running on Google's open source Andriod operating system for one... so you'll always get the latest features that Google roles out to Andriod phones. So when a new iPhone comes out with some new software features that no one thought of, Google will probably just copy them and update everyone.
Has voice to text, the first phone that actually has it running effectively with great accuracy because it sources Google's servers which means it will constantly be improving.
Has multi tasking so you can have several applications running along side each other. You can listen to music while you browse the internet for example.
Has longer battery life.
