Jan ... the dowsing, for me, was just a bit of fun.  On the particular occasion I mentioned it saved the guys digging up the field drains.  Farmers just hate it when their field drains get dug up.  Apparently there is someone who dowses on a more or less full time basis in this area.  Absolutely amazing.

Will you be able to print your articles here .... it would undoubtedly have to be after they are actually published, I'd assume - I'd love to read them.  I love the sound of the devil huntsman riding forth with his demon hounds ............

Speaking of reading, I just looked up the Clan of the Cave Bear in Amazon and read some of the remarks .... it sounds right up my ally Jan.  Next time I order a bundle from Amazon, I will include the first novel of the series and see how I get on with it.  I think I read that there are 6 altogether?  Have you read them all?

Can I just say that I know this came from Daisy's comment but this is meant to be a light-hearted thread and if it's going to turn into a disagreement over peoples perspective and views on 'fact' and 'evidence' is there another thread it could go on? Just as this is seen by many as a relaxed casual chat thread and is one that can be depended upon not to be caught up in arguments lol

Sorry Hazel ... not getting this.  Did I make a comment that is other than light-hearted?

I get where Hazel is coming from, it's just a general comment about the how this argument looks like it will take the pleasant and calm atmosphere away from this thread.

Might be worth moving it to the science thread? I might be failing to think of a more appropriate place though.

I'm happy for it to be moved. I just didn't appreciate being accused of "academic intellectualising" simply because I don't believe in things that are baseless and run contrary to available evidence.

Perhaps just move what you consider to be the unpleasant bits, Mark ...

I wasn't really meaning your comments Daisy, could just see your fairly off-hand remark turning into another war lol

Well, it would be fair to say Hazel, that I'm not the one starting the war. Smile

It wasn't a 'war'. It was a discussion.

More to the point, didn't James say something that was highly hilarious? I'm still in stitches. roflmao  This emoticon has got a rather rude text though, can't we just have  ?

Daisy didn't do an experiment.  I don't doubt her sincerity. Someone sedate George.

What did Daisy do then? Glad you don’t doubt her sincerity. Mark knows I’m here for the therapy. He’s approved it. Smile

And I wasn't the one who brought up the word "war" .... it was Hazel, who in fact was worried that it would turn into "another war" ....

Heaven forfend. Glad to see you’re back Dais.

Bloody hell, James, aren’t you being a bit sensitive? You’ve got me in stitches again. roflmao I still think that text is rude!

You see some people see discussion as a war, James. A war of words.  I expect Hazel was thinking of that and, being a peace-loving Christian didn’t want to get involved, as, I’ve noticed, she hasn’t got involved in the discussion on the RD thread, either. Think

I was just worried it might turn into one, sorry if that's underestimating you my friend but didn't want negativity slipping into that thread Smile

Why do I get the feeling that someone's having a dig at me there?
