Oooooooooh - c'mon Buhweet - trundle out the UFO one ....
It was in my Bohemian period. Like all good Viet Vets I had decided to withdraw as much from society, quit my first job as a design engineer and moved into the country north of Baton Rouge...ST. Francisville, to grow "herb" and plant an organic veggie garden!!
This is strange because I just saw, last night on the History Channel, a story about the near exact thing I saw!!! I told Geraldine, "Hey that's exactly what I saw!" The 1997 UFO fly over in Phoenix, Arizonia.
Anyway my 1st wife and I were toking on an organic spliff walking down this old counrty back road to our neighbor's house about dusk, when we saw these lights on the horizon coming toward us in a triangular pattern. Like it was three to five planes in formation. Not an unusual thing because the Air Force or Army used to practice flyovers with the "Tank Killers" in our area regularly and you know when they are coming as loud as they are! However, on this night as the lights approached they made absolutely no sound! We stopped walking and stood there watching this hugh triangular thing move over from west to east and just north of our house for a good ten minutes. Moving very slowing. The sun had just gone down so by the time it reached us we could not really see the craft, but it blocked obscured the stars behind it and the formation of lights never changed their orientation on the craft as it manouvered just over the tree tops at maybe 200 feet. When it got nearer we could see some smaller lights spaced between the larger brighter lights which were on the leading angular points. As it moved, the lights on the further side would be hidden by the craft. But as it moved away into the distance they reappeared. As one looks up at the sky you can see a full 180° of arc, when this thing was directly even with us it took up a full 120 to 140° of the sky. It was really hugh and made no sound!!! We watched it go over the hill top and tree line out of sight. That's my only encounter. Yes, I was stoned, but not any more than normal for the period!!!! I know what we saw. The whole period of time for it to pass us must have been 15 to 20 minutes. I have never seen any planes, jets or helicopters take that long to pass overhead from horizon to horizon without a sound. I flew in helicopters for three years and I could tell you, from the sound of the blades, how far away they were, how long it would take them to reach where I was standing and what kind of helicopter it was. This was not a helicopter or plane.
