How come? Why do you think it's corny?

Well, when listening to a song in Dutch, 80% it doesn't work. You need to be awfully talented to make it sound lovely, yet not corny.
Saying "I love you" in English may sound hackneyed, but still do most people use the term. "Ik hou van u" in Dutch sounds so corny and doesn't do justice to the meaning.
I can't really explain it... English songs with the most marginal choice of words sound good, but for me, there's only one Belgian band who can pull the Dutch songs off.

I dont want a war with Iran because Iran are strong and have allies. I am afraid it might start a bigger war than any in the last 60 years. Dont believe anything you hear on American news...MSNBC is too liberal for many. Fox News in too conservative for many...CNN is too dead centre for some. I can not listen for Kieth Obberman for more than 30 seconds as he is pure Liberal Bias on a new channle that should be fair and balanced.
Do I want war with Iran? No

I like your analysis of the news channels there
I really hope it doesn't get that bad in the UK but as a news-aholic I see it starting very mildly with some of the main news channels here. BBC over the past few years appear to reporting more objectively where Sky News, my favourite news channel, tend to side with the government more.
Yeah Kieth is very anti-Bush and that's exactly why I like him. But it's also worth noting that his reports are not just opinion, they are certainly usually backed up by fact.

I watch Sky News about 23 hours out of the day...I dont care for BBC that much. I love Sky News. I use to like the ITV News Channel. But its gone now.
And I understand you liking Keith. Just like I like Bill O'Reilly.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I enjoy the Americanisms of Sky News. BBC is very British and sensible. However with Sky News, you can clearly see the influences of American style reporting which makes it more entertaining. They also tend to be quite sensationalist where with the BBC, I get a bit bored.

Yah...the BBC are right to the point. Give you the news and nothing else. Boring at times.

I once emailed Sky News on their reporting of the terror attacks in London. They kept on forgetting to mention that the people were "suspects" and not actually the bombers. This is important when it seems the majority of suspected terrorists get released without any terror related charges. Anyway, later they called them "suspects", I like to thing I made a difference but probably didn't

As a licence fee payer, I don't want my public service news reports any other way....facts only please...there are plenty of biased opinions out there.
The bbc History site's recent entry for the IRA made no mention of their murderous past, yet the loyalist UVF had the exact number of victims listed! Not exactly bbc-like

Well I read a blog post from an editor at the BBC and they are taking their reporting up to the Iran war very seriously. The editor was concerned about the reporting of potential lies from government after the revelations from the Iraq lead up. Apparently they have had meetings over how to handle such information coming from the government.
This is a really positive step, I hope Sky News do the same. It certainly should be made clear that information given by the government is not necessarily true.

I live on the BBC News website. That is how I get my news on the internet. But Sky is the way I get it on telly. I like the News and More that I get from Sky.

I got a good answer to your problem...simply do not get Sky Digital...just regular BBC interactive. Ask them to block Sky...then you are paying only for straight news
