I keep reading about all these storms battering the UK yet here in Edinburgh the weather has been very quiet if dull and cold, and on Hogmany we had glorious sunshine all day.  No doubt our turn will come soon enough, and we did have a dreadful two days about a week ago.

You seem to have been hit particularly badly.  Meanwhile we are now getting what everyone else is!  Gale force winds and lashing rain.  Hope your trees are OK.

Very wet and windy today in Fife. The whole of Scotland's west coast are warned of high tide surges and strong gale force winds.

Gloomy, wet and a bit windy in the Borders too.     But we've had nothing compared to others.   Maybe ours is still on the way.

We never get any of this stuff in the NW of England. We're protected from the East by The Pennines and from the West by the Welsh mountains.

Unbelievably the sun actually tried to come out late this afternoon, and thankfully the wind has eased considerably and the rain stopped.

I know.  Snow is forecast for the south of Scotland but it'll probably be rain or sleet here, according to the local forecast.  It isn't expected to be all that windy though.
