Wonderwall was 1995.
Ah, thankyou
I do have to say that I feel more than a little inadequate to judge songs from a decade in which for the first 5 years I was in primary school and for the first, I still attended 'Rainbows'.... Also for several early years, I knew the lyrics to every Britney Spears, S Club 7 and Steps song released.... It's somewhat like asking someone to comment on the weather at 8am, when they woke up at 2pm.....

Wonderwall was when I was a wee kid... mid 90s!
I think the Prodigy are worth a mention too, they've brought electropunk onto the main stage, maybe we'll be getting more of this stuff because tbh I am sick of stuff like JLS.
Mmm, they are potentially the worst of the bunch, though beat again is somewhat of a soundtrack for when I went to Wimbledon earlier this year, but if this is about songs that mean things to you, I would have to say Stone Cold Sober by Paloma Faith, for the same reason...
And Warriors Dance is my fave Prodigy track

Their music is innovative and songs actually sound different from one another... not many seem to be succeeding with that these days.
Worst act of the 00s? Lady Gaga, one big disaster.

No-ooo! Gaga is no fail, I'm fully aware that she is not amazing on an intellectual level, but other than her tendancies to encourage insanity in her fans, I like her

Intellectual level? She writes her own songs, no?
She seems to think that being a retard is cool... going around London with a playhouse tea cup and saucer is trying way too hard, that's just one example. It's cheap pop, don't know where her music would be without her insane image.

Yeah she "prides herself" on writing her own songs and bangs in about the deeper meanings us mere mortals will never understand
And yes, I like her for her music and for the novelty factor but I agree, and think it's quite sad that she feels the need to go out covered in post it notes/bubbles etc etc to get noticed and be considered individual.... I don't think it's necessary! Same goes for all those Brits like Florence and the Machine and La Roux, I'm very reluctant to say I like Florence because I think lots of people just consider it jumping on the band wagon and think it's "cool" to like her.... I do actually like La Roux though, but I think her clothing/ make up style is a touch over the top and I do worry that that is not her true personality....

I'm thinking this is mine.... but then again.... there's The Killers.... 'All these things that I have done' and then there's Snow Patrol.... 'Run' EEK
Elly, you're forgetting 1 major thing!
I'm over 30 (hard to believe I know), therefore, I can barely remember last week, never mind the last 10 years! I need a choice! Please

Oh man! Something I managed to achieve on my 3 month world trip earlier this year was the hearing of Poker Face in every city visited! Everywhere FFS! I go into the toilet in a bar in Venice, an ice-cream shop in Ljubljana, walk along the water front market on Pag Island, reach the top of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong... what's coming out of the radio speakers every sodding time?!
My boss at work felt very much like that - we printed up the lyrics and gave them to him in a frame for his birthday

Elly, I LOVE music - it's my saving grace from life! But I'll be buggered if I can remember what records are from when and just look at that top ten list!

Oh my, what a top ten.....
I imagine will young is so high because that song gets played at weddings funerals etc etc
Quite frankly, I salute Shaggy, that's quite an achievement
The less said about Bob the Builder, the better....
Hear'Say.... The origional x factor/pop idol/britains got talent winners...
And then the TOTAL ABOMINATION: SHANE WARD!!! Are you having me on??? I am tempted to go and take out a loan and buy the required number of songs from someone else, just to shift him from the list..... I have no problem with someone from x factor being there, but this is awful, he was most definately nothing special, should be Leona!!!
And awww, Whole Again, I remember that being one of the first songs I was ever truly obsessed with... I used to think the lyric, "come and ease the pain" was, "killing is a pain".....

This goes to prove that society as a whole is dead or at least dying to a background theme of bad music...maybe Ben Elton and 'We will rock you' isn't far off the truth for the future
Again a lot of good songs to choose from (though I agree that we've had better decades) I suppose I'll join the throng in agreeing that Muse, Radiohead, Snow Patrol have numbered among my fave bands
(well produced music that I actually listen to
