I went off Castle when:

a) He made the final of the British Championships in 1986 and, knowing he was on telly, put up a card on his chair protesting against the poll tax.

b) He groped Claire Nasir's bum on live TV.

c) I wrote a script for a holiday company that he was doing the voiceover for. I got £300; he got a villa on Barbados.
He's just a bit of a tosser, to be fair...

B*stard. If you'd told me earlier, I'd have egged his windows for you.

I went off Castle the first time Andy played Tim and he compared them like a fine wine and an alchopop.

Was he referring to their personalities or their game?  If the former, back then, I wouldn't mind because Tim is ever so slightly posh like a wine and Muzza was fizzy and unpredictable.

You'd have to ask him that.  I just thought it was pretty stupid comparison, whatever.

I'd agree if he was talking about their games, but otherwise it doesn't bother me.

Well, I am disappointed. I am also a Murray fan. In fact if Roger wasn't playing right now, he would be my favorite. I have always tried to perceive everything that big sports names say from these four angles: 1) His/her view, 2) His/her's opponent's view, 3) The fans of said sports view, 4) Keep in mind context. I believe the fourth one is really the most important, and I will give you an example. When you argue that Roger expected to win the '09 marathon against Andy Roddick you forget a couple things. 1) He is in a contract with Nike, who probably made him wear it as a part of the deal. 2) He didn't seem altogether excited about talking about it during the interview. "But that is all speculation!" you say, and I would argue that assuming he was trying to be arrogant is speculation as well.

Apart from this I do not deny that Roger said everything you have in your post, but I disregard many of them for being brutally ripped out of context and intention. I enjoyed seeing some support for And Murray in here but it well disguised behind a camouflage of biased hate for Roger. I also congratulate you as one of the first people to make me question my stance on Federer's attitude for 1 second. But be reassured, I did not enjoy this most vitriolic-bile.*

*Thanks for that (1st paragraph under Vitriol)
