It doesn't sound like it's your fault and therefore you have a year under law to get that Laptop replaced/fixed.

Really.... i didn't know that..... so :thx: Mark!!

And Julia, for me computers are never good..... i don't think this house has ever had a computer that has lasted for more than a year..... and i think mine will now hold the record for the shortest break yahooo But now i'm back to the home computer, which is insane.... MSN doesn't work, no sound..... and also means i probably won't be able to follow late night scores  pullhair

Ok.... one last thing before i shut up, and give up on the laptop..... but my brother has stopped slapping me, and has looked at my laptop, he thinks that the USB slot pushed in slightly could be the problem (but he knows nothing bout computers  :P)..... could he be right Mark?

I've never known someone to push in a USB port on a laptop so I'm not sure how easy it is to do so. If you did manage to do that is sounds like it may of been manufactured poorly and therefore once again it isn't your fault.

A USB port is designed to be pushed, you'd have to of been extremly wild to push it in to a state where it could break.

Ok, i said i'd shut up ...... but i've looked again, and the USB port is actually broken ....

The white bit appears to be missing...... but a) surely this wouldn't break the entire computer? and b) i really wasn't wild with it, so as you said i think it must have been bad manufacturing  confused
