Ok.....so my Kodak Easyshare software died, meaning that I had to download it again from the website. But now I have the software that works, my computer is refusing to recognise my camera so I can't transfer pictures... It keeps saying that there was a problem installing the hardware.... HELP!!

???
The problem isn't transferring pics from my camera to the Easyshare software, but getting my computer to recognise my camera.

Gah. Exactly the same problem my Grandmother's computer had when I was in London. Not only the camera, the USB wouldn't recognise anything. We thought the computer was s***. Eventually solved it. We realised it was the modem/router that was s***e, once we turned it off everything was fine. That probably won't help you though Laura. Probably needs a windows reinstall like my volume control problem probably does.

My knowledge of computers isn't the thing I am world famous for. Isn't it possible to reinstall the USB drivers? That may do the trick. Reinstalling Windows is a scary option.....

Yep Laura - i have exactly the same problem. Computer doesn't recognise the camera (as in when i plug it into the USB cable there's no reaction or it just says insert the instalation disk.. which i have done 100 times). We have couple of computers at home though so tried it on all of them and nothing works, so it's probably a fault - going to take it back to the shop on Monday. It's only 1 month old FFS.

Does sound a bit drastic but its no so bad. We did it recently for my brother's computer and it fixed a whole host of problems. I'll probably do it for mine now I have 2 weeks off uni and a bit of free time, see if it can sort out my problems.

What about what I asked? Can't we just reinstall the USB drivers? I don't think that this will help Laura, but I want to know the answer for myself. So if anyone knows computers better than me (almost everybody that is), please help.

It keeps saying that there was a problem installing the hardware.... Exact error message...? Or was that it? Does the camera appear in Device Manager?
