Sorry to hear that and I must disappoint you - we do not delete accounts for the following reasons: - Members will sometimes do it in the heat of the moment, change their mind and then the we have to go to the effort of recovering the account. This has happened before.
- Having blacked out usernames as thread starters is not only ugly but more importantly it gives a bad impression to new users.
- Allows us to know if that user registers a duplicate account, this tracking would not work if the original account is deleted. Being aware of duplicate accounts is useful and has happened on several occasions.
- Member stats do not suffer.
- Better security (for example, if someone finds out your password, they can't delete your account) If you know of any posts that identify who you are then send me a PM and I will edit/remove them. Other than that, there is nothing you can do. |

I think the reasons given for not deleting accounts are very unconvincing and quite amusing and is more likely to do with a loss of bragging rights regarding membership numbers.

 Easy. Stop posting. Nobody will remember your posts if you aren't prolific. Change your user name on other sites if necessary. Sad but true. This is the interwebby which is pretty anonymous and, unless you've given out humungous personal details what's the bother? Just quit and dont participate anymore. Easy peasy. |

I know. Part of forum life I suppose. It's way too much hassle to delete accounts ( I speak from being an Administrator of another,non tennis related, site). Why on earth should we be responsible for deleting someone's posts? Maybe a lesson to think before you press a submit button. |

Huh? Sorry, dont understand that....explaination would be appreciated. Though if you aren't using your own PC in your own time I think you cant complain if your employer etc complains. |
