They told me to remove them and any reference to them. They said they wouldn't take it any further so long as I complied.

I can't be bothered finding the thread where you quoted the emails - did Mark edit other people's posts which quoted or mentioned them too?

He deleted them I think. You won't find any trace of the e-mails.

I'd rather not risk my career prospects. I wasn't about to get chucked out of uni because I wouldn't remove a few posts from the forum.

University of the West of Scotland. Used to be Bell College, but it merged with a bunch of campuses, like Paisley.
