The "more money than sense" line is needless. It's all very well Murray not reading the website because we don't sugarcoat what we say about him, but that line is needlessly insulting.

It's not said in any sort of seriousness, the whole news article is clearly light hearted. However, feel free to change it to whatever you want, I'm no journalist.

Crushed is far too strong a word. Losing by one break in each set and then a tiebreak is not being crushed, particularly when Murray served for the 3rd set and had a bunch of set points. He also had as many, if not more, chances than Federer in the first set.

I don't know why you're so eager to exaggerate the severity of Murray's losses, but the over the top headlines are completely unnecessary. With the exception of the 2nd set (which was still only a 6-4 set), Murray was well in this match. Even MTF didn't exaggerate Federer's dominance in the title of the result thread.

You'll have to elaborate. Explain why it's ironic.

I think you tend to exaggerate the severity of the situation when Andy is doing poorly in a match so it just sounded funny for you to critise Phil... I know it's not the exact same thing though.

You're right, it's not the exact same thing. I do that to deal with my nerves in the middle of a match. I've never exaggerated like that after a loss. In fact, I'm one of the most optimistic posters after a Murray defeat. I just think the headline is way over the top, almost like Phil is venting.

And if I did feel angry and pessimistic after a loss, I certainly wouldn't let it come across in the match report.

I agree with Clydey re: the match report title. A bit harsh really. He had his chances, just couldn't take them. He was hardly annhilated. He'll be back.

Clydey, the two matches I've reported on that featured a Murray defeat were this one and the USO exit (I think, no doubt Andrew has the WRONG! youtube clip on standby). I used the headline "Cilic Destroys Murray" in the first one, which I believe was completely applicable to both 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 scoreline and the general way in which Murray was dominated by Cilics heavy hitting.

For this match I think the word "crushed" is just about right. It explains both the general tennis performance (JesusFed was in the house and busy snuffing out any chances Murray had), and the way Murray clearly felt after the match.

If I'd used the words "destroyed", "annihilated" or "spanked to within an inch of his life like a red-headed stepchild", you might have a point.

Fuckerations. It's not been a good day for accuracy.

Anyhow, that headline was about right as well, wasn't it?
