Bet Julia's lunch came up, at the thought.  Rolling Eyes

This sounds like a good idea to me.  Smile

Bet my name came up.

Andrew got a hard on as a result. shocking

I think it's a fab idea, anyone should be able to contribute. If it was me, I wouldn't put any limits on it apart from being in a journalistic format and maybe submission to staff for a quick check? It would be cool for people to include personal experiences too? I can imagine someone like Clydey (and Andrew of course Rolling Eyes ) being able to write something entertaining which isn't necessarily current news.

As we are a Google News Publisher, I think I can configure it so that the columns are published there... pretty good for extra exposure Smile

My current suggestion for approval process:

New forum called 'Columns' under 'Murray Community'. People submit their columns in a sub-forum called 'Submissions' which is moderated by the mods and news team. Once someone gets a chance to read it, they can then move the topic into the main Columns forum which then means it appears on our main website and allowing Google News to publish it from there.

If anyone has any ideas for approval, please share Smile

I think it would be a nice idea to have some world clocks in the Forum - one showing the time of the current tournament and one showing BST.

What about blogs? Could we have our own blog on the site? Or is that the same thing as a column?

So you want every member to have their own blog setup? Very few people would use it so it's probably not worth the effort.

Columns are for any member of this forum to write their own article relating to Murray and it then gets published outside of the forum for decent exposure.

How do I write a column for MurraysWorld?
1. You must be a member of MurraysWorld. Registration takes under 30 seconds, sign up here.

2. You write an article and post it in the Submissions board.

3. A staff member evaluates your article to make sure it complies by our editorial guidelines (see drop-down below).

4. When approved, the article is published on the main website where it will get its own page like our official news articles.

5. Your article will receive the following exposure:

* Columns page
* Google News (As a Google News Publisher, our articles are treated like mainstream press)
* Rightside of website (See section on the right panel called 'Latest Columns')
* Appears at the top of the home page, above the news, for 24 hours.
* Publlished on our Twitter and Facebook accounts, including various other social websites.

Editorial Guidelines

1. Article has minimum word count of 300 words.

2. Article is written in English with good spelling and grammar.

3. Your opinions need to be based on fact but speculation is acceptable to some degree.

4. Article does not contain emoticons.

5. Article does not contain underline or bold text unless used as a sub-heading.

6. For Google reasons, we ask that you include the word 'Murray' in the topic subject (headline).

Any chance of having Andy's golden match in the video section? Thanks.

It is currently on the bbc website but I don't know for how long. I just watched it again and am amazed at Andy's level of play

You can add it yourself if you want lol

Needs to be on YouTube though.

I just noticed you moved the Jamie forum, but maybe you could change forum to something like "Andy's Entourage" so it's used for Jamie, Judy, Kim, Lendl, rest of his staff and family.

Interesting idea but isn't that bit insulting to Jamie? lol
