But do take a quick look at what ASUS do in this Tablet/Laptop hybrid arena before you buy
Id personally would take your time before you buy Emma.

I am also new to the iMac and I love it, and safari is much quicker and safer than windows. Also no annoying pop up's either. Still got my Toshiba laptop, but at certain times of the day it's slow, but my iMac is much quicker, due to safari. When I ever get a new laptop I will get a pro macbook.

Safari is no match for Google Chrome and I never get pop-ups because I have the Adblock extension installed

You can use Safari for Windows or several other browsers on your windows laptop.

Well, I am thinking about buying a Mac as my ever so faithful Dell is now at the end of its life cycle but getting mixed reviews all over the place about Mac. Just want something different this time.
Hey, go ahead. Buy one. I am currently enjoying and too obsessed with the one I just got..apple is the best you can get. What are your other options?

Mark, I have pop-ups blocked on Chrome but still sometimes get irritating ads, so why does this happen?

I was referring to the Chrome extension
Adblock
, have you got that installed?
If with all that enabled you still get pop-ups then perhaps you have Malware on your computer. In which case download
Malware Bytes
and have it run a quick scan.

I'm with Mark on this one.
Apple's marketing department must be the smuggest, wankiest pricks on this earth.

If you're used to Windows then it's going to be uncomfortable to transition. I'd personally get one of those nice laptops that let you remove the screen so it can become like an iPad whenever you want.
I always used PCs before my current Mac.
It took like 4 days to get the hang of it.

I am not rushing into things of course but I am looking at different things. What comes first is what I need and I don't think I need much. If I do go with iMac, changing browsers might be frustrating at first no doubt. Somehow I feel it's a big purchase.

I must admit - when it comes to electronics and other big purchases, the guys know the best. Women tend to look at the colour and style first. lol but I am not as dumb as the blond joke of course.
