Sorry guys, server has indeed been acting very strange today. Not sure what has caused this sporadic behaviour yet but I have just done a full reboot so hoping that fixes it.
Thanks Mark,thats much better now.

I just fixed an issue on the home page where the article images were not showing at all in Internet Explorer. Luke let me know of this.

Did anyone else not notice this before? Looking at what caused it makes me think it might have been around for a while but then that doesn't make much sense as I think some of you guys use IE and would therefore notice  Think

There is a problem with IE 7 which is the latest version that those with Windows XP are allowed to use.

There was some downtime this evening for some UK users as the London datacenter CloudFlare is on had issues.

The mind doubts, but the heart never does.

It was a bit slow earlier - I assumed there was a wee issue.  Thanks for the update.

Yes, coincidentally the New York datacenter that we are located on had quite a serious outage. So two completely independent issues from two different companies that led to us having downtime twice yesterday.

Sabine's account seems compromised so I have given it a 1 day temp posting restriction and have changed the password. So she can hopefully reset it once she regains access. Thanks for your reports.

1 day temp post restriction? Surely a little harsh given it wasn't her. Couldn't you just reset the password?

Harsh really is an appropriate word, this is for her benefit as much as it is for ours.

I did the 1 day post restriction in case the password change didn't force a log off, I've not tried it for this purpose before.

I'm assuming it is friends or family.

But how could it happen otherwise? Email inbox could become compromised and thus from there the person could reset her password to what they want. And do that for most other websites as well. Actually, that's another good reason for a temp posting restriction.
