This seemed like the right place to share some info...

According to the statistics page:

Posts in Sep 06: 15,188
Posts in Sep 07: 5,167 (10 thou less!)

Posts in Oct 06: 18,425
Posts in Oct 07: 10,233 (8 thou less!)

Posts in Nov 06: 11,536
Posts in Nov 07: 6,977 (5 thou less!)

Posts in Dec 06: 10,608
Posts in Dec 07: 3,527  (7 thou less!)

Posts in Jan 07: 19,286
Posts in Jan 08: 5,635 (so far but on course for a lot less than last year, unless we all start spaming Smile )

Anyone know why this is happening? People not using the internet as much? Andy not as popular? Maybe we have lost business to AM.com?

Murray being injured for so long. Him missing French/Wimby and losing in R1 of AO doesn't help for our post count but also our bursts in membership we usually get from it. Murray being knocked out of AO in first round hasn't helped for this year so far.

Also AM.com will have played some role.

One of the biggest reasons behind those depressing stats are AM.com taking our no-1 spot on Google which is unavoidable unfortunately.

No, Wiki are below us.

Unfortunately we should be second but AM.com are taking up two spaces from what appears to be due to a weird URL structure and I've reported it to Google so they can improve their algorithm. The blog shows as part of the links below the no-1 spot but also takes up the no-2 spot which to me seems incorrect. With Am.com's new site launch this February, hopefully the main site structure is changed a lot and therefore preventing them having two spots.

....plus Cate and David used to post loads. I don't think there's anything wrong.....we've all got busier lives now. You can't judge a forum by the number of posts.....there is virtually no spammage on here (mark and Neil excepted lol) and the quality of the debate is what counts, surely. Would fuzzy get the time of day at AM.com. When (not if) Andy wins a Slam, us oldtimers will be telling the new members we've been predicting it for years!  old old

Well I've noticed MW is quieter. Im not really complaining... I kinda like it.

Arka for sure has sommin to do with it.

I dont really have a busier life...still bored. lol

People always suddenly stop posting as much because things in their life change but usually new members would essentially replace that. But Murray's lack of Grand Slam appearances/success have really hit us hard in that regard.
