Jamie is however, playing the Cardiff Challenger type thing over Easter....if he was playing on the monday I could go and watch (will most likely be heading back to uni on the Tuesday)

He's way down in singles and 215 in doubles. goto the ATP page if you want exact rankings. Think it;s 34th in UK singles and 5th in UK doubles. I just typed a whole thing out, but went back before i clicked submit!! Argh!
Ah well. Basically i am saying he's not got a hope of ever being a great singles player. Just giving facts.

I have been following Jamie's doubles act for quite some time and I think he and Fleming will make a decent if not good team on the tour. I think they may even get a Davis Cup call in the World Group play offs later this year. Since he is 884 in the singles he is fighting a tough battle and the fact that he is better in doubles hurts his singles as Colin will force him to do challengers

It must be tough for Jamie having to live somewhat in the shadow of Andy. He certainly has the potential though.

I don't know why, but I always see Jamie as the younger brother And Andy as the good older bro... For Some reason I do too! It's baffling.

Although Hilton has retired so really the pairing is 3rd and 4th in Doubles. Will probably get a wildcard into Wimbledon and if they can win a round or two there it would b great for them. jamie is never going to be a good singles player because the two are Challenger level for doubles, and Colin is about that for singles, but Jamie is nowhere near that level.

When did hilton retire? I rather liked him, he's a nice bloke.

Apparently he decided that he was never going to reach the top 100 so he didn't think there was much point in continuing. A bit strange I know. He's still on the rankings but won't be in a few months time.

In the Aberdeen doubles match he looked solid. I think he has the best chance in doubles and I think he can go far

After all Andy is the better player. But obviously it's up to the coaching peoples and the players preferences.

I've been saying (and i know that i'm not the only one) ever since Aberdeen that the murray brothers could become a force to reckon with in doubles in the Davis cup in years to come. I don't know if he'll get to play Glasgow cause I'm not sure his ranking's quite there yet but they just know each other's game's so well and Andy seems to give Jamie a confidence he doesn't have on his own. He really winds him up and gets him going. I'd really like to see Jamie right up there in the doubles and I definately think he can do it. After all, they are up there winning and pushing finalss of challengers. I'd also like to see how Andy (or Jamie for that matter) get on playing with Jamie Baker in doubles.
