Think Jamie'll do better in the doubles as that's his specialty.  Wonder if he and Flembo are playing mixed doubles?

The Indian 2st seeds got the first set 6-3.

Jamie and Mhairi Brown lost yesterday 6-3, 6-4 to the Australian top seeds in the QFs of the mixed.

He's playing mixed with Jocelyn Rae against Mirza/Paes (IND) with the winners playing Smith/Hutchins.

Not a happy Commonwealth Games for Jamie Frown

Jamie Murray out of singles, doubles and mixed doubes  [Scotsman, 7 Oct.]

Jamie Murray's involvement in the Games came to an end yesterday as he was eliminated from the singles and the men's doubles along with partner Colin Fleming. The elder Murray brother and Mhairi Brown had been knocked out of the mixed doubles a day earlier.

Murray has played very little singles in the past few years as he has forged a reputation as a world-class doubles player, so it was little surprise that he could not get the better of England's James Ward. He held his own for most of the first set against Ward, but could not respond in the second when the Englishman went on the offensive, and lost 7-5, 6-0.

His and Fleming's subsequent defeat, however, was definitely a disappointment, as the two were tipped to go far in the tournament.  The draw was not kind to them as it paired them with home favourites Rohan Bopanna and Somder Deuvarman, who sailed into the second round with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

Aw! Disappointed to hear that Jamie is out of the Commonwealth games, I was soooooooooo hoping he would have got a gold in the doubles!!  As I know he so wanted to achieve something for SCOTLAND!:crying:

Think Jamie's got too much on his mind just now - like his imminent wedding!


Also commiserations to Scotland for losing out to England in the badminton team event, but good luck to Susan Egelstaff in the upcoming singles.  Hope she can better the bronze she won in Melbourne in 2006. cmon yeah

yay  Wonder when Jamie's getting married.  It has to be quite soon, but I know the plans were being kept under wraps ... although, of course, unless he's very lucky, the information is bound to be "leaked" by somebody, whether inadvertently or otherwise.
