Good to see 'Stretch and Booty' reunite. I believe that they're playing together at Wimbledon. Hopefully more tournaments after that as well.
They're seeded 14th for Wimbledon, hopefully now they're both older they can see that they had a good partnership.

Good news - so hope it works out for them both. They are playing tomorrow - good luck boys.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Really great to hear they're back together again. Hope it lasts.
Just managed to scrape past their opponents in 4 though. Still, a win is a win!

I love Jamie too.
No offence, but it's a shame they had to show Andy as well. Seems like Jamie's always living in his younger brother's shadow yet he's a very good player in his own right. It says a lot for him that he never shows any signs of jealousy.
I wish the pair all the very best in the doubles.

Hi Aileen and all,
I like Jamie too. I just think with singles you can get attached to one player, get to learn how they play, what their personality is like. I suppose it's harder to do that with doubles.
I'm really looking forward to seeing both of them together at the Olympics. I really love watching them both play, watching them together on TV for the Davis Cup in Glasgow moved me to tears. I think Andy feels the responsibility towards Jamie quite deeply, it certainly looks like it.
I have fond memories of watching Jamie and Jankovic winning the mixed at Wimbledon. I was only watching on TV, but it was brilliant. It's amazing to me that it was 2007, it seems like yesterday.

That 2007 mixed doubles was amazing, especially given that Jamie and Jelena had never played together before and only decided to enter at the last moment. Loved the way some people chose to misinterpret their whispered instructions to each other as 'sweet nothings' and had them married off! Mind you, I think Jamie was genuinely quite taken with her though, but I seem to recall that she declined to partner him again at the USO.

So Jamie is playing singles qualifying in Bangkok. If he manages to beat 22 year old Canadian Kelsey Stevenson ranked 1237, he'll play Kevin Anderson (who obviously wasn't planning on playing in Bangkok a month or 2 ago and didn't get a main draw wildcard when he decided he was going to play).

What's Jamie's singles ranking anyway? I can't seem to find it. According to his Wiki his highest was 834, and that was in May 2006.

This probably sounds a stupid question, but why not? I know he's first and foremost a doubles specialist, but why would that stop him having a singles ranking now when he had one before?

Why should he have a ranking when, before today, he hadn't played a singles match in over a year? And the singles ranking is based the results of the previous year.
Anyway Jamie beat Stevenson in 3 sets but needs to beat Anderson to gain any ranking points.

Rankings only cover the previous 12 months, and as Jamie hasn't played any Singles matches in that time (and therefore not won any ranking points) he doesn't have a singles ranking.
