Hi Bev.  I did wonder where you were today.  Hope you had a great time at the tennis, btw.

I was there, even though it meant stopping up till 1 am yawn  Had a brilliant time in Oz - fantastic venue (though I've never been to any other).  Was sorting through my photo's for a bit last night - my friend's will be better as she's an amateur photographer.

It's great to watch it live, isn't it.  I should imagine the venue is fab.  I keep harping on, but I'm gobsmacked at how Murray is handling himself here.  Brilliant!  yes

I cant tell you how pleased I am that Andy played so well.  He played a brilliant game and looked like the player we all know that is.  Maybe now the press will give him a break instead of always being on his back.
Hope he continues to play well and go on to win the AO.

Andy can play really well and rafa was beaten before his injury but I fear the knockers will cite the injury as the reason for the result, wheras in reality Andy outplayed him. No offence to Rafa, he is a great player and will come back. I hope Andy can now find the consistancy which has deseted him in the past and if so then he should get past Ciric but it should be close. Come on Andy!!

I've lost respect for Nadal. 3 more games was all there was needed for Andy to have a pleasant win.

It does suck but I think Nadal deserves the benefit of the doubt. It may have got to the stage where three more games could have been three more weeks of recovery. And remember, he did say some very nice things about Andy after the match.

Looked even sweeter in HD lol...now all we need is for Donkey n Nole to knock the stuffing out of Fed over ten sets and Muzz to take care of business...the irony of being ranked 5 is that he doesn't have to play Rafa n Fed back to back. Great stuff today...even the bookies didn't fancy Ralf clap

I would agree if it was most other players but Nadal just isn't the type to quit unless he really believes it's necessary. He didn't quit against Andy in Rotterdam last year, he hobbled on to allow him the full victory. I guess the nightmare of missing Wimbledon through a chronic knee injury last year has made him extra cautious and I don't blame the guy. Sadly, I think his days at the very top are now numbered - he's pulling out with the same knee injury in the first big tournament of the year. He's a great guy, a truly humble and genuine champion without all the egotistical crap that Federer has. I've a lot of time and respect for Nadal, will be truly saddened if this really is the beginning of the end for him, tennis just wouldn't be the same without him. Frown
