Marcos Baghdatis, the new star of world tennis, last night tipped Scotland's Andy Murray to join him as one of the game's leading lights.
Speaking after his four-set defeat by Federer, the 20-year-old Baghdatis said he realised how much pressure the 18-year-old from Dunblane must be under.
It is tough coming from Britain with all the pressure but one day he will do it; it is just a matter of time.
There are parallels between the pair – both were junior grand slam title winners – and the Cypriot said they were good friends.
Andy is a great player, a great athlete and really entertaining to watch on court. I like his personality; he is a nice guy, really funny.
He is a good friend and I think in a few years he will be up there for sure. That is guaranteed. I think, though, it will take him a while because it is not so easy.
