Murray done in sixty minutes

Quote

What I also liked was how modest Andy was in his on-court interview with BBC.  He said he was lucky today [by which I think he meant lucky he was playing like he did not that he had lucky points]. And there was no sense of avenging Wimbledon.  Indeed he said if he and AR meet at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks, it could be a really tight match.  He acquitted himself so well on every front.  Feel really proud of our Andy today.

Yes, Ruthie, I agree he came over very well.
Great to see him reach a Final again, and playing so well. Good luck.

Am I the only one here who thinks that remark came very close to saying Andy had 'lucky' shots, or am I being too cynical? There were some golden shots......sure.......but only because Andy made them so!

I didn't take it that way Caz,it sounded  a bit like he was in awe.The article was of course doesn't give the tone of voice but i am not thinking it was just luck ,our Andy played a brilliant match.

I think it's a bit unkind to accuse Roddick of talking about "lucky" shots when what he actually said was that everything Murray "touched turned to gold" which is in fact a very nice compliment.

You and I agree on this one Dianne ... Roddick was most probably a little envious if anything.

Yes I take it as a compliment too - a way of saying that Andy was way too good today.
