The fourth round match showed again that Andy is not taking the game seriously. He should practice more and work on his weak sides. How many times did he hit the ball into the net. It always was the same type of return, forehand. Why doesn't he work on it? Without the hits into the net, he could have won in 3 sets.
What a stupid statement to make, he does take his game seriously and he does work at his weak sides. Players don't always play their best game for a variety of reasons, the top players find a way to win. Rafa hasn't been playing well and he has found a way to win. I know that Andy will relax now and you will see him playing some wonderful shota when he faces Chela tomorrow.

You're getting a bit predictable, Michelle. You're not the thought police, you know. I don't see much wrong with the post you quoted. Time and again, Andy has made the same mistakes.

Made you, it's not surprising coming from a bumpkin from Taunton - I bet you go/plan to go to SCAT.

Now thats a bit below the belt Joe. why can't we just agree to disagree without resorting to verbal diatribe, just shows the writer of such comments and statements in a poor light. confused

I went to Richard Huish College, Taunton. wink
Nevermind, I made a mistake in my original post anyway!

However, my main point stands - I don't see you telling Michelle off for labelling the opinions of others 'stupid' - not the first time she's done it either. Is it because she's always positive towards Andy?

Far too many people on here are a bit lovey-dovey - the place needs more banter and general abuse.

I agree with all the naysayers about Murrays performance, to a point.
He's been told COUNTLESS TIMES BY ABSOLUTELY F***ING EVERYONE that this kind of passive play just won't cut it anymore. What's more, is that he has the ability to shorten the points and be extremely aggressive. Which makes it all the more frustrating.
It's doing my head in!
Another thing that perplexes me is, for someone revered as one of the great tacticians of the game is his utter lack of a poker face.
Still people, he IS injured (which makes everyone more tentative) and has been very brave and (and and!) he won.
So well done Andy M!
I'm off now to take a few Valiums.

Banter yes; abuse no.  And for the record I'm not saying people should not be critical of Andy when he doesn't play as well as he is capable of.  It's the extremely negative and sometimes almost gloating way that those criticisms are expressed which annoy me.   And the personalised nature of them ie criticise the play rather than the man.  And the same applies to how we treat each other on MW. w00t

I think I'm a little old to go to SCAT, just for the record I went to Manchester University, and I'm Welsh, not from Taunton just happen to live there now. I don't mind critcism of Andy but the statement that was posted certainly was not about Andy's match but that he didn't work at his game  etc.

I used to like MW, but it's fast becoming AM.com, with a growing number of posters patrolling and stamping out any legitimate criticism of the man himself. Shame really, because what attracted me to it in the first place was its general refusal to tow the party line. Frown
