You are right people in the south of england say they love the north.  But when the BBC said they wanted more programmes made in the regions they nearly all said they would not go.  Do we in the North and Scotland have horns? why do they feel they have the riight to refuse and still keep their jobs.  If the same applied to us we would be fired outright.  The english chattering classes get away with murder.  Its time the BBC should tell them if you dont go you will be fired.  They earn vasts amounts of money and yet they are not happy.  If I was earning like them I would be quite happy to move they are a spoilt rotten lot.
Get rid off them and give their jobs to people who deserve them.

Well said. Gobsmacked to hear Andrew Marr gets 600k a year for a couple of hours work a week. And is it really work to be honest?  Beeb is as corrupt as Councils. Mind you Andrew is a Scot and his Sunday morning show is really good. .

My son thinks we the public should stop funding the beeb and it should be turned out into the bear garden of commercial sponsorship!

I've now gone digital and get even more channels stuffed full of ads. Rolling Eyes  Much as I dislike paying my TV licence, watching the Beeb is a welcome relief.

Yes, we've got digi boxes too. The ad. breaks have been getting longer and longer.....seems like 5min. ads to 10 mins of programmes....it's infuriating. I usually switch to the Beeb during the break, but it's a pain in the bum!

We don't have tv licences here and few free to air channels, thought there are more on the digi boxes but we have sky.  Bugger all on it sometimes but wouldn't be without it.

I have sky which is okay because it covers much of the tennis.  I also like documentaries and films.
I also have another sky box in my office which is okay but when I phoned sky to have it connected
I was told I would have to pay £25.00 to watch channel 5.  I thought channel 5 was free to view
I cant understand how they get away with it?  I have a freesat box in my bedroom which is not too
bad.  I get quite a few channels but some are total rubbish.

That's why I love my Sky+.  Being able to fast forward through the ads is great.

That sounds a wonderful idea.

However, I can't afford Sky, and BT Vision doesn't include SS3 & 4 where most of the tennis is on, so just upgraded my monthly broadband allowance recently for an extra £5 pm so's I can watch more tennis live-streamed, and although I pay for a good live-stream, I can actually get more tennis that way than I could on TV.  I'm not a great telly viewer anyway so having a lot of extra channels would have been a waste of money.

I too cant stand the adverts, they really drive me mad, maybe that's what they want, brainwashing us that what they are doing. I heard on the news last week that
Channel 5 Channel 4 and another cant remember which, sorry, are going to extend there adverts on those channels to 6 minutes. Jumping w00t I try to record most things so I can fast forward the ads, otherwise I might get violent. hammer

I cant stand adverts too. But if Murdoch does buy B Sky B you can bet your socks that the prices will rise and we will get more adverts. I think it is terrible that this will be allowed to happen.  He has so many papers that he has in his control.   Perhaps the powers that be should look into this.
