Some of the things Andy said during the on-court interview:
-"I sweated a lot.. had a little bit of cramp."
- He talked about dealing with the wind :"..trying to hit a flat ball at one end...changing the shape of your shots.."
- Gave himself a mark of "6 or 7 out of 10.. didn't serve particularly well, but I won in 3 sets against a tough player. That's what I needed to do." (Loud cheer from the crowd!)
-Interviewer then spoke about the Gold Medal Win in London (and the crowd went wild!!
-Spoke a little about the Wimbles loss, but Andy said "To win at the Olympics kind of made up for it."
When asked about his thoughts on public perception after his Wimbledon loss speech, he said: "I'm a very emotional person. Sometimes you see the negative side of it, sometimes you see the positive... I keep getting reminded it's been like a hundred years since anyone British won it."
Big crowd applause at this!
Johnny Mac said his interview at the end of the Bogo match worked out better than the match because it gave him a chance to talk and he engaged the crowd, and it was satisfying for both Andy and the crowd.
They say a picture paints a thousand words, so I took this pic of my TV during the interview.. This was his reaction to the crowd's cheers when they spoke about his Gold Medal Olympic win.
