I did not say that you don't have a right to say what you think the same as we do! Perhaps you should read my post again.

This is his first match of the tournament, let him win ugly. I don't think it's worth criticising a victory this early on because Andy is rarely motivated enough to bring out his best against that class of player.

I think I will twitter Andy and tell him to change F...k to Barry Cowan, or perhaps B.Cowan would be better. I felt like strangling him during Andy's match, the other guy Leith or Peter Fleming was much better and did in his own way correct Barry.
Just reading through 'has it happened' section on the beeb and they are apologising in the text commentary too - we wouldn't have heard him!
* Murray 6-4 1-2 Simon
More problems for Murray on the forehand as a couple of unforced errors into the net gives Simon a comfortable hold. Murray again lets all know just how vexed he is by it with a somewhat colourful outburst. Earmuffs, kids.

I really get annoyed that so many are quick to criticise Andy. I think we need to bear in mind that Gilles Simon, played in Estoril, winning a few matches, then he'd played in round one. Andy hasn't played since Monte Carlo, not able to play tennis until the end of April. Altough he kept his fitness up, he will come on for that match. Thought he served very well and he played some genius shots. Give the boy a break.
I also wish the Sky commentators would stop apologising for Andy's language, don't they know we can't hear what he says. Also the language I believe of the other players is often worse, but because it's not said in English they don't know what they say.

I too was annoyed a Barry Cowan, that when he kept apologizing for Andy's language I didn't hear it, it was brought to my attention by that ***** Barry, I was shouting Barry

Didn't see the match so can't really comment. But the fact is Andy won a match he'd probably have lost during his recent slump. Simon is a good player and has really pushed Fed in the past. Given the circumstances, ie Andy not having played since MC and perhaps feeling abit tentative around the elbow, sounds to me like it was a good win. Not good in terms of quality of tennis but good in terms of winning ugly. Not sorry to have missed it though from all accounts esp if Cowan was ranting on again about the language - give us a break eh Barry we're not all shrinking violets.
Re the coaching, while of course it's a drag that Cahill can't advise on tactics against another Adidas player I do think Andy will probably gain alot from working with him during this inter-regnum so I'm relatively relaxed about that.
Good luck later today Andy.

I agree with Michelle. We can not hear the bad language, so why does the commentator keep drawing our attention to it ? Sounds like he is trying to emphasise that our Andy is not very nice & very rude. But all the other players swear including Federer ! ( Did you hear him at the US Open !! ) So the commentator ought to remember if it wasn't for Andy, he probably wouldn't have a job ! Plus Andy is a World Class player & he should be very proud of him & not continually criticising him & running him down.

Ruthie, if you'd have seen the match, you would have seen Andy walk on court looking shattered with bags under his eyes........hence the criticism which was fairly light really. Never mind though, I think we'll all be singing his praises tonight! .......Andy in 2! C'MOOOOOOON!

Maybe the Swiss (and other commentators from other countries the involved players are from) apologise for any bad language used? Who knows...
I often hear players shouting etc., and I doubt they can be saying - gosh, darn it...

Thanks for that insight Caz. Can't believe that was just due to playing dubs though. Perhaps he had a bad night. Anyway, let's hope it's just bags and bags of energy and precision hitting today.

Anyone know what has happened to Andy's match? He was supposed to be on after Djokovic's match - now completed.
Perhaps rescheduling owing to Del Potro's withdrawal?

Think SKY just said another 40 minutes, so now they're waffling.
