An article from today's Telegraph has just been posted on the News Articles thread from which it would appear that Ivan Lendl has made an informal approach to Murray's advisers offering to be his coach after watching this match.

Oh I agree Andy was less nimble for a while, until he shed some muscle weight. However, I don't recall him mentioning movement being a problem after every match - only in matches when he's played abysmally. He's just said himself that recently when he's walked on court there's been no spark mentally to get him going, and that's obviously going to impact on his body. The problem would, therefore, seem to be in his head, not his legs.
Totally agree, we have to stop agreeing like this people might start talking. Just to further add to Aileens theory and refute that of rob h. Andy also says in practise he moves well, chases every ball down, strikes the ball well and thus i deduce mentally alert and motivated. So the question is, why does the environment of real match play seem to be elliciting at the moment such negative self image within Andy. Mentally down, no motivation, phyisical impairments etc. My conclusion is the same as aileens!

Now if this story is true, then at least Andy and his entourage should consider this offer. Although, that said he's already given the job in principle to his south american friend and hitting partner (the name escapes me), to now retract this offer perhaps would not go down too well!

Why not the obvious? He's lieing about just how well he's playing in practice because people can't handle the truth?

Because what you propose may not be the obvious would you have us all believe that Andy is so cynical! Your not the only person to think like this. However, what does this say about us all as Human Beings? I personally believe its more than the obvious you state here, some of us would prefer to be told the truth than to be lied to! When you try to deceive people you ultimately only end up betraying yourself.

Which is what led to last years blow up in Monte Carlo, this year he's dropped the pretense that he's interested and so it's all theatre.

Have left a comment on the article, but whether or not it sees the light of day remains to be seen. Frigging pantomime to get myself registered.

Andy is not lying because he was actually seen on the practice courts by a MW member who was in Miami, and she commented on how extremely well he was playing, and even serving.
