Well it might not have been the result we'd hoped for but Andy has shown his great abilities over the last two weeks. So gutted for him but still so proud at how well he's done...after all from making it to the 4th round last year to runner-up this year, not too shabby yes
Federer played some amazing tennis to win that. Hopefully the next final Andy plays won't be against him lol

All in all more positives than negatives come out of the AO and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year Smile

That's good to hear for tennis in general.  

I remember that Andre and Pete used to have really exciting games where they both walloped the ball from corner to corner.  None of these tactical top-spin business.  I think the standard was higher when Pete and Andre were playing in some of their matches.

I was too nervous to enjoy it. Watching the match was like being diagnosed with a terminal illness. At first there was anger, then acceptance, etc.

No idea how he lost that 3rd set, though.

Yep. I thought it was a great tournament, even putting Andy's run aside. The fact is that he is the second best player in the world, despite what the rankings say. Federer, in my opinion, is the only man who could have beaten him. He needs to avoid Federer or meet him before the final. Facing him in a GS final is just too much pressure, what with all the media hype that comes with it.

Totally agree with you rachie - if Murray can keep putting himself in the frame (excuse the pun here) then he'll become more relaxed in these situations. He did get closer than his '08 defeat. More to the point i like the direction his game seems to be going in, he has much to take away from this past fortnight at the AO, this newly adopted aggressive style will come more naturally to him the more he does it. Lets not forget he's still only 22, rather than beat him up just because he lost one match out of 7. lets celebrate the positives we all can take from his performance. I felt i really got to know him during his tearful post match thank you speech. He should let his guard down more makes him more likeable and human.

What irritates me is the people who go on about how DP and Djokovic won a major, beating Federer along the way. However, neither of them faced that version of Federer. He was a shadow of himself when they beat him. He practically handed Del Potro that match.
