What irritates me is the people who go on about how DP and Djokovic won a major, beating Federer along the way. However, neither of them faced that version of Federer. He was a shadow of himself when they beat him. He practically handed Del Potro that match.
Kinda like Andy handed Roger this one?

He did bottle it serving for it. Left everything on court in the TB mind you. Although I can't believe that missed FH at set point.

F**k off, Federer was all over the shop last year, very OTT. Andy did his best to hold it together, Federer in both cases was 'me, me, me'. He completely detracted from Nadal's victory last year and showed very little compassion for Andy this time around.

Not really on the same level, Roger was like a genuine baby, he was crying buckets and ruining the experience for Nadal completely.

Murray didn't ruin Federer's experience, he was smiling with Federer soon after his speech.

I think he saw Federer committing himself to the forehand as he was hitting the shot as he knew Fed would have reached the ball and ended up in several minds as he was hitting it.

A backhand was the much better shot, think even a backhand drop shot would have won point (wrong-footing Federer), irrelevant now as it didn't happen just hope Andy can learn that you don't need to snatch at these chances when they come.

The mind doubts, but the heart never does.

I don't think the tears of a multiple Slam champion who happened to lose one, can be compared with those of an up and coming youngster going for his first Slam for the second time.  Totally different scenarios.

Definitely, Federer was only concerned with equalling Pete's record. Didn't care that Nadal was slightly injured during match gave him no praise.

Murray's comments were a credit to himself and his family.

Anyone have the winners/UEs stat?

I wouldn't want to know. Frown

Really though, Andy squandered his chances to break when he had them. It was unbearable to see him not convert 1 of those set points in the tiebreaker. What's more, the fact he couldn't close out the set on his serve at 5-4 was really upsetting. I honestly believed he could of made a remarkable comeback and win it in 5. I just wished Andy punished more of those short balls...

Nice hearing him say he definiteyly has 6-7 years of more chances for a Slam, I do think he can have a long career unlike the likes of Nadal (which is very sad) Smile

It wasn't bad actually. Fed's was encouraging cause he had a lot of UE's. Fed 42ue - 46w. Andy 36ue-29w. Fed won 116pts, Andy won 100.

Lets all face up to things, nobody in the world ever would have beat fed today! he was on another planet....

Andys serve was a little shakey at times, i think if it was a 2nd/3rd round match he would have done him but being the 2nd slam final after a mauling at the "US" he was always gonna be alot more nervous

I hope he finds a way to win his 1st slam soon as then they will come thick and fast(in my opinion)

He is a top talent and amazing to watch.

come on Mr Murray!!! nervous nervous lets get it done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe not the french but back on the grass?/ or at least US

great watch all tourny though, enjoyed it!
