The mind doubts, but the heart never does.

I am a hugh Murray fan but once again i'm left disappointed by his inability to attack his opponent. His serving was poor, which i can understand sometimes but far too often he played the 'safe' option... for which i am severely disappointed.
It's easy to sit and be an armchair critic. My initial reaction was the same. However, we need to remember this guy is only 22 years of age, and we also need to remember that it doesn't matter how badly we, as massive fans, want it for him - it's him out there having to soak up the pressure and deal with what's going on in his head.
Gutted for him today, really gutted.... but for him, not for myself, as a fan.

But not for Murrays World Mark.......Onwards and upwards.....im absolutely gutted but we all know, the best is still to come....work in progress.....and we in MW will reap the rewards.
This is the only way to look at it. We're all terribly disappointed for him - Oh how I wanted to see him in the final but we'll have to wait another year. But the tennis goes on - there are many other tourneys to come and he'll have learned a few more lessons by next year. What guts me is that he was so close and there always seems to be some player who plays out of his tree to beat him when it looks as if he's heading for a championship. I suppose it will all come right one day. Just now I feel like everyone else - gutted.

Well said Elly, and Andy must be suffering more than any of us - do hope he gets away to Miami with Kim for a holiday - then it willbe onwards and upwards for him and maybe he'll come up against ARod again in the US OPen. Roddick obviously has a great deal of respect for him.

Gutted for Muzz, but looking at the stats, you'd have thought Andy had the better of it. A-Rod played great on the big points. The first serve in the breakers did it for him. Credit to Stefanki for coming up with a game plan that worked. Great run....roll on the hardcourts

I'm wondering how Lleyton Hewitt feels now with regard to his comments on Roddick's unchanged game !

Cried for you andy. Roddick was unstoppable today but you have aquitted yourself so so well. You gave us some brilliant, magical tennis over the past 2 weeks, and I know you are going to win next year - Head Up Man, you can do it!

Lol yeah, i am a little critical... but good intentions and all... it's my scottishness. But he is 22... look at all the greats that have won slams by that age, so that's not really an excuse.

Eira... i don't know what the underground section is :S sorry... and i am being a bit lazy tonight in not trying to check for myself.
Robbie: Isn't wimbledon the only tournament of the year? haha... na, yeah... i have had the luxury of watching every tournament since september.. (self employment is great). I was just meaning... Djokovic won a slam at (emmm 20???) as an example, so that's all i was meaning.

That's tennis finished until next year for Britain
If there's one good thing to come out of this, it's that all the clueless idiots will have a couple of days of laughing and spouting more ignorant rubbish before we get a break for another 11 months. Bliss!
