[float=right][/float]Andy Murray continued his searing form at the Madrid Masters this week with an impressive 6-1 6-3 victory over Juan Ignacio Chela.

The Scot won the first five games in quick succession and rapidly secured the first set, as Chela failed to contend with Murray's varied and accurate groundstrokes.

The British number one was playing some of the best tennis of his young career as he broke again early in the second set, and continued to set the arena alight with winners of the highest quality. The Argentine awoke from his slumber mid way through the set, but Murray extinguished any remaining hope of a comeback, as he saved break points and broke serve again to seal the match.Interview

It was awesome. I played really well. I was really happy to win so convincingly. Some of the shots I played were pretty special as well.

I struggled a little bit the last few weeks. I was starting to do little things better but not everything was coming together in one match…so it’s taken a long time to come.

I’m enjoying playing tennis much more now. Hopefully I can keep this up for the next few tournaments.
Next up for the world number seventeen is the victor of the Baghdatis/Nadal clash which will be played tomorrow evening.

Really? I hate that guy! Andy refused to do an interview with the BBC post match yesterday cause he's miffed at them. Feels they stitched him up.

Saw some amazing shots by Andy in particular in the 2nd set at 3-1 to Andy with Chela serving, he probably played 4 of the best points in the whole Match if not

tournament.

The first point was a rally which Chela thought he had won with a lob over Murray but as you know Murray never gives up and he ran the ball down and with his back to the net he hit the ball back over the net past Chela with a forehand and landed inch perfect on the line.

Now if that wasnt good enough he then played some amazing defensive shots during a rally which for all the world you thought Chela had Murray in trouble but once again he just ran down the ball again and again and finished with a backhand winner down the line which Chela could only spectate at, this had the entire crowd applading Murray for a good 40 seconds and even Chela acknowledged the brillance of Murray's battling qualities.

The 3rd was textbook point forcing Chela wide his forehand and he could only return the ball for Murray to hit on the up and dispatch it down the line on the far side leaving Chela flatfooted.

The 4th was just an amazing signature double backhanded rasper down the line that was inch perfect and at that point you knew Murray was only going to do one thing WIN and win comforably, so all i can say is bring on Baghdatis or Nadal after that win both will be wary of Murrays form
