incensed at BBC news tonight reporting on Andys win

"Say what you like about Andy Murray, and many do, and he is certainly not going to win any prizes for sartorial elegance, he has progressed to the fourth round with ease."

What is wrong with these people at the BBC? Do they want a British world champion tennis player or just another Beckham poncing about in a thong? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Respect the guy please.
I heard that too on the late news.  What drivel.  What does sartorial elegence have to do with it, and why did the Beeb need to mention this anyway? Oh, I know ... the time the players in the WTF went to Downing Street, and Andy's tie wasn't tied properly. Rolling Eyes  It did look a bit scruffy, but I guess Andy isn't a regular collar-and-tie man and is happier in casual clothes.  As far as his tennis outfits are concerned, he has to wear what Adidas give him, so if the Beeb don't like them either, tough!

'Andy Murray on win over Garcia-Lopez'
Thanks, Andrew - a very encouraging and positive interview. Smile   Sounds to me that Andy's really got his head sorted out now.

If you get a chance guys please watch the posted you tube video, what a joy it was to watch Andy smiling and joking during this particular interview. Says alot about his current state of mind.  I've honestly never seen him this relaxed or animated ever. I truly believe Andy has grown mentally over the last 12 months yay yay yay

What a great interview. Andy was so relaxed and the interviewers asked intelligent questions. This all helped Andy to respond professionally and with maturity.

Long live this new and grown-up Murray.

Thanks for putting it on, Sir Panda

Anyone any idea approximately the time of Andy's match against Melzer?

I should guesstimate ca 3.00 am.

Just heard on the TV. its going to be shown live on the red button/BBC 2 at around 0200hrs tomorrow morning. where all routing for you Andy. Lady luck seems to be smiling on Andy. Its gonna be played in the day, and tempretures are expected to be high once again, will not suit meltzer. In Hot conditions i give Andy the edge. That said Meltzer will not give andy the match, he's already talking up his chances!!

I would have thought hot, quick conditions would suit the aggressor (Melzer)

Then again, Andy's versatility could mean he comes out firing, I'll be intrigued to see how he approaches this match.

Better late than never but only watched the match last night, having recorded it. Sorry everyone but just can't cope with watching in the small hours.
Great report Nigel - must be one of the most positive I've read on MW.
It's worth noting that before the match GL was quoted as saying that unlike Fed Andy allowed him to play his game; after the match he complained he simply did not know what to do in response to Andy's play.  That will teach him!  It may have been very one sided but I think that was because Andy simply didn't give him the psychological or physical space to play as he'd planned.  It does seem like Andy has made real progress on aspects of his game that members of MW had been critical of.
Stupid BBC and anyway I rather like his new kit.  The fact that Andy doesn't seem to care what he looks like is one of the things that is endearing about him.
Thanks for the interview - great to see Andy so relaxed.
Lovely to discover that the Y in Andy's Aussie Lads has joined us on another thread.

I completely agree with you. I think there must've been so much tension in the Murray camp after last year's AO. I expect u guys discussed it a lot. I've seen quite critical articles about Dani's role as Andy's "coach" but what I suspect they're all missing is his vital role as a warm, supportive, stabilising influence in the team which must've contributed to some changes in Andy. Gone is the negative, often self-harming behaviour on court and gone is the rather diffident behaviour when interviewed. This is a relaxed, at peace, focused  Andy and I like it very much.
On a different note have read lots of positives with some pundits even saying he'll come through on the other side. Haven't seen him play. Anyone who has got any thoughts?

Don't worry Blueberryhill [love the name as a Fats Domino fan] it can be confusing!  I've not seen Berdych play yet - but there was a suggestion on Eurosport he might beat Nole in the quarters even though the latter is playing really well.
