Andy Murray will play a qualifier in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships this coming week.

Murray will find out the identity of the qualifier sometime tomorrow afternoon after the final round of qualifying has been completed.

R1 > Qualifier
R2 > Seppi or Tipsarevic
QF > Youzhny (expected)
SF > Federer (expected)
F > Djokovic > (expected)

The draw in full

UPDATE:
The qualifier has been announced as the Russian, Igor Kunitsyn who is ranked 90th.

Murray's path through the tournament has been help further by the withdrawal of top seed Roger Federer due to illness. Therefore 6th seed Marin Cilic will be the expected semi-final opponant for Murray, should they both get that far.

Andy should win the first 3 rounds no problems assuming he is fit.  This will be a good chance for Andy to measure up against Federer once again.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

On the face of it, Andy should at least reach the semis where I'd relish him having the chance to avenge his last 3 defeats by Federer, although Fed is likely to meet Cilic in the quarters, which could be interesting.

Having looked again at draw - what do initials "WC" beside a player's name stand for?

i've just looked at the full draw and federers name is scored out..it says he has withdrawn from tournament (illness)..pity as i'd have liked to see andy get another crack at him..i wonder if the tournament organiser will call for fed to be punished for a late withdrawal?..doubt it somehow!

the only player i fear in the draw now is davydenko..

c'mon andy!!

Frauderer has a chest infection, apparently.

Andy should now make the final - will be interesting to see if he can keep up the form and tactics that we saw in Oz.

Fed won't be punished.  Caujolle was just spouting a load of hot air in Marseille.

Also Fed may be out, but Cilic could be a very dangerous opponent should Andy meet him in the semis.    cmonandy

Chest infection, lung infection... Is there much difference? The latter sounds more impressive certainly...

Seems from video that only Fed's right lung is causing problems, but as the lungs are responsible for supplying the blood with oxygen, then any infection and its after-effects probably have to be taken more seriously than a chest infection, so he'd be foolish to ignore medical advice.
