It looks like a tough ask for Andy from the quarters on. If everything goes according to plan, he will play Soderling, Federer and Nadal on Fri, Sat and Sun. Soderling is red-hot right now. Federer will be looking for revenge from last year's semi when Andy beat him. Nadal will be looking to repeat his 2 and 1 victory from last year. But what the hell? We all know that when Andy is really up for it, focused and fully fit, there's no stopping him.

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

i'm a bit worried myself about the prospect of soderling in the quarters..i think with so many of the very top players coming back from injury or lay offs we could see someone outside of the top 4 win this one..i think cilic is in good form too and could be the one..
i hope andy looks a bit more focused in this tournament, hopefully the tipsarevic defeat will serve as a warning that there are plenty of players out there who can give him a troublesome time if andy is in any way below top form. he has a lot of ranking points to defend in the next couple of tournies, i'd feel much better approaching the french and wimbledon with andy still in the top 4 so it's quite important that he goes far at indian wells and miami.
As Andy has to get to the final in IW to defend his ranking points, I don't think there's any danger he'll be "experimenting" during these matches. Focus, focus, focus - that's the key to his success, and I hope he's been working on his first serve. Also from what I've been reading, Nadal is pretty fired up. I wouldn't under-estimate him, although his body may not yet be ready to go the whole way. Playing in a tournament is a whole lot different from practising.

I'd rather Andy met Fed in a semi than a final - somehow he does better where there's less obvious pressure.
The draw isn't too unkind for him, so he should make it through to the last 8 without too many hiccups. Let's hope he's got it together mentally and physically

i notice andy and ross hutchins are playing in the doubles tonight..against blake and roddick, hope sky sports coverage covers it!
is andy due to play his first singles match on sunday?..i see seppi got through, could be a tight game, last year when andy beat him in rotterdam there wasn't much in it. i hope andy goes deep in this tournament to make up for the disappointment of the last one..fingers crossed!!

Andy was still suffering the effects of a virus in Rotterdam, even although he won the tournament. However, he went on to beat Seppi 6-1, 6-4 at Queens.
I've no idea when Andy is playing. Trouble is IW is several hours behind us so they're still focused on Saturday. If I find out, I'll post it - or maybe somebody else will.
Sorry I missed the "Hit for Haiti" men/womens doubles. The prospect of seeing Sampras, Agassi, Graf and Davenport in action again was tantalising, but it was the middle of the night here! Will just have to be content with the highlights on the ATP website. I understand they raised $1m. Great stuff.

Good - found Sunday's schedule. Tsonga/Matosevic match up first.
Andy's due on court around 1 pm Pacific Standard Time, which is 9 pm GMT.

I think it's 8pm GMT. They change the clocks in America tonight.

Do the clocks go back? Thought they'd go forward in the spring, like us. All a bit confusing this.
Anyway Murray/Hutchins beaten 7-5, 7-6 by A-Rod/Blake. Bad luck, but Andy can now give the singles his undivided attention.

So if they go forward does that mean GMT -9hrs, which would mean Andy plays around 10pm GMT?

Till now they've been 8 hours BEHIND us. Now they go forward one hour, so they're only 7 hours behind. 1pm their time is therefore 8pm our time.
