Andy Murray will make his Davis Cup singles debut today when he takes on Switzerland's no2, Stanislas Wawrinka, after Alan Mackin's match against the mighty Roger Federer. Murray is well aware that this match is a must win for him if there is to be any chance for Great Britain to win the Davis Cup tie against Switzerland.
Although Murray wasn't chosen by Bates to play against Federer today, he still could face the world no1 in the reverse singles on Sunday.
The Scott considers playing Davis Cup tennis as the highlight of his year and is relishing the prospect of playing against Roger Federer.
The 18-year-old said:
Playing in the Davis Cup against Israel has been my highlight of the year.
If given the chance, I would love to play against Federer. I certainly love being involved in the British team.
Practicing is not my favourite thing to do so it is more fun when you are with a team.
Play starts at 1200BST today with Murray on court after Alan Mackin.
