The draw for the Wimbledon championship was made today and Andy Murray faces a difficult route to the title. He will meet Nikolay Davydenko in the first round before running a gauntlet of big serving heavy hitters. Nadal and Djokovic are likely to lie in wait in the latter stages of the tournament. Murray has not won a match since losing to David Ferrer at the quarter final stage of the French Open. The Scot has since suffered a first round exit at Queens and exhibition event defeats to Tipsarevic and Djokovic. R1: Davydenko R2: Karlovic R3: Anderson R4: Cilic or Raonic QF: Ferrer Del Potro SF: Nadal F: Djokovic

He didn't have the best of runs before the FO but managed to get into the 2nd week. I shall take each match as it comes.

That's one tough draw Should Andy get through the big hitters, at least it will prepare him to face Rafa and Novak.

With that draw I'll be happy if he makes it into the QF

Andy Murray - Olympic and USO champion! :)

I'm pleased he's managed to avoid Berdych or Tsonga in the QFs, both would be really tough on grass. Perhaps Tsonga will repeat his heroics from last year and this time knock out Rafa?

Quelle Surprise non? Unbelievable. And corrupt to a certain extent. At least if he does meet Rafa in the semi's he'll be well worked in.

No seeding and ranking to a complete extent! Anyway the way Andy's been playing he's not beating any of the top 3 in the semi's and I'd rather see him lose to Rafa than Fed or Nole, let them beat each other up- of course this may also be influenced by my love of the spaniard

And Andy can beat Novak on grass although its the occasion that might well be the problem, although Novak would be less intimidating. I hope you would prefer, however, that Andy pulls up his britches and does get one over the Spaniard for once. he's won a couple of times already man. If not

From Mike Dickson: Murray possible route to SFs: Davydenko, Karlovic (6'10"), Anderson (6' 7"), Raonic (6' 5") Del Potro (6' 6") then Rafa

What a horror story of a draw!
Doesn't even have a numpty qualifier in the first to get a rhythm going. I have never had such low expectations going into a slam for Murray. Prove me wrong Andy. PLEASE!

Andy, bar a few striking exceptions, gets the most difficult draws of the top 4. Roger usually the easiest. But here's the thing, they often change mid week as the inevitable surprises take place and all of a sudden everything opens up a bit more for him.

I'd rather he's against someone he's played against in past and who hasn't played himself in through qualifying in 1st round. After that, assuming he does come through, looks like it's going to be Andy against the Goliaths then pace Mike Dickson .
