A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

It was so obvious to the world-wide audience that Andy was suffering physically: the blister, the hamstring, the possible fatigue due to less recovery time. None of it would he name as an excuse. In the first two sets both players were equal, and so it comes down to one or two moments when your body does not allow you to do the utmost. Yet, he gave it all and that is what counts as well.
One question to those who might know: If Andy does not plan to play on the tour in February, will he then play in the DC or is there no tie for GB then?

The GB DC tie is from 5-7 April, against Russia - and once again a home tie, although the venue has still to be decided.

Thanks for the information. I thought it would be in Feb as the German team has its tie against Argentina then, if I am not mistaken.

Delray Beach has been mentioned as a possibility, given it's closeness to Miami.
Would be interesting and could work - going from training in Miami, all the way over to Dubai and then back to California is a lot of travelling in a short time. However, Delray Beach is only a 250 and he'd lose the points for the Dubai final, a 500 tournament.

I fancy Andy to win Wimbledon this year
, which would be very special. I'm so much calmer since he won the USO and I sense that he is too.
And forget checking his 'official'
website, Joe.
Whatever's going on, you're more likely to hear it here first.

Andy was very composed and focused after; even that is new. Murray has definitely evolved so much in the past year.
Commiserations on his loss at AO.
But he's going to bounce immediately back from this and he has so many positives to take: went a round further than last year, trumped Fed in five at a slam, served excellently overall (though not as well in the final).
Kudos Andy M! Congrats Nole!
Season's just begun - onwards and upwards.

GB were given a first-round bye, hence the difference in dates.

I've just checked the DC website and it would seem that the venue has still to be decided.

Great to seen Andy stand up against Djorkovic's A game, particularly in the 1st set, but also in the 2nd set. I was very impressed because the level of Djorkovic's tennis was right up there for alot of those 2 sets, and provided significantly harder opposition than Federer managed. I guess everything just got too much for Andy in the final 2 sets, which was a great pity. Perhaps the real final for Andy was in beating Federer in the semi, I don't mean that as an excuse, I just sensed Andy cared more about that match and found it difficult, I know this sounds insane, to attach the same importance to the final!? Oh well, he lives to fight another day!!
