Telegraph - Andy Murray will move into the world's top 40 when the ATP rankings are published tomorrow - just as the Sunday Telegraph predicted early last October - while Tim Henman will slip behind Greg Rusedski. The new young British No 1 has got there by his own efforts, but another changing of the guard behind the scenes will hopefully ensure that there are more Andy Murrays to follow him.
It would seem the 18-year-old Scot, so obviously a child of the new millennium, has been an inspiration to not merely the young in Britain - not to mention young lovers - but also the old blazers and buffers at the Lawn Tennis Association. Suddenly there seems to be a collective will to improve Britain's dire tennis fortunes. It was almost as if the appointment last week of a dynamic new chief executive at the LTA had been inspired by Murray's heroics in the United States the previous week.
