The LTA are streaming the Davis Cup live on their website, free of charge
Thank you, Iris, for this & also Aileen who posted it later. It looks promising although right now my screen on that website is telling me "No
Stream".

I know it could be seen to be a bit draconian but really think that's the way to do it.
Cheers Mark

Yes, Federer, Nadal and Nole are clean cut looking on the court, but many have these superstitions that if they won a match, they wouldn't shave before the next match....they're a superstitious bunch these tennis players. If Andy doesn't have any of these fears, then maybe he should clean up the way he looks...he's a good looking guy when he doesn't have tuffs of whiskers sticking out at various places. But I give him credit for standing up for himself.
Good Luck in Davis Cup on Saturday Andy.

On the shaving thing I'm sure Ive seen Nadal and Djoko with bristle and doesnt del Potro usually sport a bit of a Fred Flintstone from time to time?

Sure David Lloyd is allowed to have his own opinions over this matter but maybe he should just stick to talking about, and focusing on, Murray’s tennis and not his facial hair. Lloyd’s basically saying that if Murray had a shave then he would’ve hit his forehand and beaten Nadal at Wimbledon.
Yeah right.
Murray’s problems aren’t caused by hair and his beard (or attempt at growing a beard lol) has nothing whatsoever to do with his ability to win a Grand Slam. Murray’s problem is a confidence one and once he starts to get better mental fortitude his game will reflect that and he’ll start winning the Slams. His tennis, is at times, amazing and his technical ability is easily as good as the top three (so when he puts everything together he’ll be great).
Overall this is a comment that Lloyd should have kept to himself. It tells you a lot about Lloyd himself and, to a wider extent, the society we live in that all he (and others) can focus on is the obsession with image. Let’s face it (so to speak lol) these comments are nothing but a load of stuffy old establishment nonsense that’s being perpetuated by David Lloyd at the moment. It’s a generational thing for sure but it’s also an out of touch, lacking in relevance and quite frankly snobbish observation.
It’s also exactly the type of unwarranted rubbish that adds nothing to any debate (and tells you all you need to know about what's wrong with Tennis in the UK) but is intended to self promote and publicise their own agenda (we all know that David Lloyd's gyms have been mentioned a few time by various people in the media over this so I’m sure Lloyd is happy to accept the free publicity).
Murray has, I’m certain, more important things to worry about than shaving. Besides, I’m sure Murray (and his fans) would prefer him to be himself, and look himself, rather than being a corporate and sponsorship cultivated clone that’s moulded and shaped (not to mention shaved) into a stooge of the brand merchandisers like many other tennis players I could mention. Many players for example have, to a certain extent, been pretty much buried behind their so called public images (there aren’t many on the circuit at the moment who show off their real personalities).
I like Murray as he is. At least he looks real.
Good post LL. Loved Andy's put down of David Lloyd.
For another stupid theory on why Andy won't win a grand slam try a piece by Boris Johnson in the Telegraph on Monday [which I bought at station to get free water and read a piece I'd heard mentioned on the radio]: top UK income tax rate doesn't provide sufficient incentive. As if that was what motivated Andy.
And thank goodness he hasn't upped sticks to a tax haven like Nole has.

NOW we know why David Lloyd wasn't as successful as Andy Murray. He paid too much attention to his grooming instead of his tennis! Had he not done so, he would have won several Grand slams!
There are as many opinions about Andy as there are people, none of which have anything to do with him winning or loosing matches. I've seen Rafa with stubble many a time, and both guys have a mop of unruly curly hair.
Maybe I've been transported back in time, I thought this was 2011?

Every British tennis has been seems to appear and have a comment to make about Andy - are any of them as good as him - NO, are any of them as successful as him - NO have any of them made as much money as him - NO, did any of the have the natural talent and ability of Murray - NO, did any of the have the work ethic of Murray - NO, did any of them receive the utter s * * t that Murray receives - NO. We have just watched this guy haul Team GB through a tie - does it matter if he has an unruly hair "do" or doesn't shave for a week - NO. Why can't they give the guy a break - he is a brilliant tennis player it doesn't matter what he looks like - his talent is in the way he plays tennis - he doesn't want to go up and down a catwalk !!!!
