Superb Andy-great mental strength and wonderful play.
Shame on you Roger, what a way to end a career resorting to cheating. Didn't work for you though using the old" get the roof closed" ploy.
As someone tweeted, there were more drops of sweat on the court than drops of rain.

Are you getting up at 4.30am tomorrow Scotnadian? I would like to but I think my husband would be a tad annoyed. Drat the wooden floors, you can hear a pin drop in this house. Maybe I'll take the computer to bed and watch a stream with the sound off.
Raging that Scotland lost yesterday but Andy makes up for it.

How are the mighty fallen - Fed should be thoroughly ashamed of himself for his gamesmanship, which not only backfied spectacularly but caused the match to be unnecessarily procrastinated.  Obviously he didn't bargain for Andy's new-found mental strength, but Andy learnt a lot from that Wimbledon loss.  I'm prepared to believe that Andy still isn't feeling 100% fit, and that might catch up with him tomorrow, but for today at least he kept himself going and gave Fed the thrashing he deserved, despite a very pro-Federer crowd whose behaviour frequently was decidedly unsporting.  I did though hear a few lone voices shouting for Andy and at least one union flag and a saltire were on display.

Out of curiosity - doesn anyone know if any other player, at least in the upper echelons of the game, has ever served 3 consecutive DFs?  Or has Fed set a new record he'd rather not have?

Just read the full match report Nigel - up to your usual high standards.  Some lovely touches.  Thanks.

Well don't remember such a fed up interview from smugfed for some time.   He really doesn't like being beaten by Andy even though he was rather more respectful towards him than sometimes in the past.
