Andy marched on today (early start) I know Andy is not a morning person but he was wide awake beating an angry and fustrated Roddick 6 - 2, 6 - 2. Roddick was given a warning for racket abuse, having smashed his racket in fustration. He can now have a nice massage and have what is left of brilliant day.
A bit naive this? Andy did say once that it takes him about 3 hours to go through all the various processes after a match.  He would have to go through the usual boring old interview routine, sit in an icebath, get pummelled around by his physio (and anyone who's had this will know what I'm talking about), then have a massage before forcing himself to eat a high protein meal whether he wants it or not.  And only after all that can he think about relaxing!   Also I'm sure he doesn't see the defeat of a washed-up Roddick as being exactly "brilliant", although he will of course be pleased that he played well.

I did watch the match (up at 2 am does me no good when I've got to get up for work at 6 am) but didn't post on MW.  Great to see him back in action.

Hard luck with the doubles Andy and Ross hug

Good luck to Jamie and Colin today and to Andy in his game vs Roddick.  On at a good time for me Very Happy

Maggie May has just tweeted that she and Rusty have now got their pet passports - put a photo on to show them. I wonder if they will all go to America for Christmas? It would be nice to have Kim and the dogs with him. Nole takes his poodle with him when he travels. Very Happy

Yes....and I'm another cynic! "He's 'probably' going to be one of the favourites".......Well! How big of him to say so! It's like I said the other day........All he's doing playing it safe in case Andy beats him, which I sincerely expect he will! That man makes me so mad! ARRRRRGH!!

Yes a good match today Andy played well within himself. I agree the court does look very slow. Hopefully it will improve as the week goes on. Andy was saying that the balls were not suitable for the court.

Nice report, Andrew and well done our Andy!

My goodness what a slow court is Centre Court. I almost fell asleep waiting for the ball to bounce at a respectable height for Andy to return the ball.

I didn't see the match so it was good to read the "Sir P." report.

Call me cynical, deb, but this sounds like Fed's silver tongue at it again.  After all he can't very well say anything negative about Andy to the media!  Hope he's right about next year though. Smile
Yes Girls  your right Mr smug at it again!!! Hope he whips Fed this week, and he is right about next year.  Smile

Going back to the Fed conversations, in the express today Fed said of Andy and  i quote : He is probably going to be one of the favorites here and in London, next to Rafa and Novak and myself, Andy is definitely strong enough right now and i believe hes going to have a good next year as well. Thats the feeling i have.  shocking   well well !!
