Watching the way Del Potro has bounced back makes the defeats of Murray even more humiliating.  IF he has the same problem as cricketer Yardy, I hope he soon seeks help.  However, if it's just a case of stubbornness (as I suspect it is), I sincerely hope somebody can get through to him that he is NOT sufficiently gifted to go it alone and he needs some serious talent around him that CAN steer him towards his ultimate goal.  Otherwise I can see him quite swiftly sliding down the rankings and will end up the embarrassing and pitiful equivalent of Dinara Safina.

Unfortunately, in Reply 111, I did ask if Andy would lose in 2, I was correct. I also mentioned in Reply 15 that AM should consider giving up tennis and try mini-cabbing.

I just can't bear a non-tryer with talent

The mind doubts, but the heart never does.

^ However, it's not fair to judge.  We have no clue what his life has been like, and who drove him to what - whether he really wanted it or not.  That's his business.  I honesly do feel privileged to have watched some of his finest play.  I'm hoping there's more to come, but we'll just wait and see.

I concur. So much so that I have taken to relook at some of his great past victories I had recorded

his only excuse now is he's clueless. he's actually saying he's too stupid to know whats wrong. and he hires a rank amateur coach when his games at rock bottom. if nothing else that tells us he couldnt care less. What a gutless cowardly approach. At the moment I cant stand the sight of him

He hasn't 'hired a rank amateur coach'
Dani is his friend who he met whilst at the Academy, when they were 15. He is Andy's hitting partner - but unfortunately Andy seems to be coming to rely on his advice etc too much, whilst he's not yet found that experienced Coach who will help him.....

Oh! dear, this is all sad reading, I feel sad and gutted that Andy is out of another tournament in the second round. So miss him playing with fire and passion, I do hope he gets himself straighten out, as he has so much talent I hate to see it wasted.  He must be feeling so embarrassed  getting beaten by two amateurs, one after the other. My heart goes out to him. I want the old Andy Murray back!!!

So, you are saying some dude, his own age, no prior coaching experience, who's a "friend" is what he needs at this point in his career? Wake up!!! Might as well hire his Mum!!! She's got more experience!!
