lmao  I couldn't believe my ears when Sam started talking about it.  I wonder if he read it on here, or whether somebody else passed the info onto him?

Some people in the audience might think it's real now. Best thing would be if a reported asked andy about it XD

Well it was heard around the world - instant reaction on MW match thread (page 10/11) from UK, Canada and New Zealand!

A comfortable win, all done in 1hr 13 minutes of stress free tennis, with Andy looking great.

A fun moment, in 2nd game I think, when commentator Sam Gore, was asking "what's this about a boxing match?" Had heard Andy was going to do an exhibition match for charity.

Good one Nigel!

Here's the full match. The comment about the boxing is at 12:05. Crazy.

Great report,thank you!

Was just reading that when Vasselin was asked about playing Andy, this was his answer:

"I asked several players to give me some advice, and not a single one was able to give me good advice"

That's our Andy! Very Happy

What a joy to read the report, ending in a very strong victory for Andy. I didnt see any of the match but look forward to look at the recording.

Well done Andy  yay  for a cracking start on the red dirt.

Good and confident win.  Pleasure to watch with no stress.  Not sure tomorrow will be quite as stress free.

Great win for Andy.  I think he absolutely had right on his side in his little argument with the umpire.  It can't be right that the receiver can hold up play and then the server is penalised for that.  They have to look at that.

Great to see Andy playing well inside the court much of the time and sliding around with ease.  He himself commented that it was good he was going to the net more, which suggests that is something they've been working on.

Comms said Andy has 2nd best record for aces of top 10 this year - after JWT.  But worst record of top 18 on 2nd serve points so still room for improvement there.  But good to see the first serve working well today although the 1st serve in stats at end weren't as good as I expected.

While not wanting to be a party pooper, I remember Andy made a brilliant start last year too, but couldn't keep it up - though that may well have been because of his back.  If he can achieve his first clay court win over Stan tomorrow that would really set him up for the clay court season.  But feeling  nervous   already
