Murray has moved up one spot to fourth in the world rankings despite suffering the biggest slump of his career. The Scot has failed to win a single set since beating David Ferrer in the semi-final of the Australian Open in January. However, he has overtaken Robin Soderling in the rankings after the Swede lost in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open. Update - 5/4: Murray accepts wildcard for Monte CarloAndy Murray has accepted a wildcard to compete in the Monte Carlo Masters this month.
Czech world number seven Tomas Berdych will join Murray as a wildcard in the April 9-17 tournament which includes world number one Rafael Nadal, Djokovic and Roger Federer. Murray continues to work on finding a new coach before the start of the clay-court season.

This is well deserved. Valid recognition of the hard work and skill shown in the last 6 weeks. The defeats to Bogomolov Jr and Donald Young have shown what a top class player Andy is, and now the new rankings are the proof of this.

Totally undeserved but that's the ranking system Andy has an absolutely abysmal 6-4 win/loss ratio of matches played this year (excluding Hopman Cup) and has 450 points to defend for the clay court season whereas Soderling has 1300, having reached the final of RG and Ferrer 1410. So, even if Andy were to continue with his poor run of form his No.4 place looks relatively secure before the grass court season starts. Problem is that the top 3 are moving further and further ahead of him in the points race - and it is quite obvious that Andy is no longer mixing it up with the BEST! However, all we and he can do is wait to see what difference a new coach can make and how the CC season pans out

If he wasn't already completely convinced he can part time his way through the tour he is now.

Read his post again.
Didn't miss what his post contained. Just wondered if he had a rumour up his sleeve.

If it was still the 1st.....I might be tempted but I am taking it for granted that Andy WILL appoint a coach in the not too distant future
